At Oliver Manning Press in Canterbury, I make and design individual pieces of furniture for clients across Kent. Whether fitted or freestanding, consultation and collaboration with the customer is key to achieving a quality result that is both functional and stylish. Contact me today to discuss your requirements.
I started trading in November 1990. Over the past 30 years I have gained extensive knowledge of furniture, restoring antiques
for museums, the trade and private individuals, in London and Kent. I worked at The European Centre of Conservation in Venice. This knowledge of furniture construction and design is an invaluable resource when designing new pieces of furniture.
The use of contemporary materials and techniques is very liberating, and when combined with solid timbers, traditional design and construction techniques, I am able to make a broad spectrum of bespoke furniture and joinery.
Locally, I have made and installed bespoke kitchens, wardrobes, bookcases. They are designed and made to fit your space, however irregular. Solid timber dining tables, curved floating sideboards or large office desks designed and built. Bathroom vanity units, window seats. All pieces are individual and essentially unique. Other unusual commissions include hexagonal and pentagonal commemorative hardwood benches designed made and installed in Welwyn Garden City.
I am always happy to discuss any projects whether or not you have a design. Finally, whilst my knowledge and experience of restoration is broad, the trade and trend has changed but I am always happy to discuss the viability and options on restoring antique furniture before carrying out repairs.
